Manejo de la fractura del instrumento en el tercio apical: Reporte de 3 casos

Abstract

During root canal treatment, rotary instruments may fracture due to bending fatigue, torsion, or manufacturing defects. The cases presented in this article address the management of fractured instruments in the apical third, using orthograde approaches such as bypassing, removing the fractured instrument, and microsurgical techniques. The treatment options discussed here show a high success rate depending on the diagnosis. When associated with a periapical lesion, retrieval or bypass of the fractured instrument is essential for treatment success.
