Tratamiento bidisciplinario de una reabsorción cervical externa: Reporte de caso

Abstract

This clinical case presents an 18-year-old male patient with a history of right-stage IV Wilms tumor, surgically treated and currently in remission, with annual follow-ups since the age of 6. During the clinical evaluation, the patient presented a pink lesion at the cervical level of tooth 21, with moderate pain upon vertical and horizontal percussion. The definitive diagnosis was symptomatic irreversible pulpitis and symptomatic apical periodontitis. Periapical radiography and cone beam computed tomography revealed an extensive cervical lesion close to the pulp chamber, consistent with external cervical resorption type 2Bd, according to Patel’s classification. The treatment plan included conventional endodontic therapy of tooth 21, endodontic microsurgery, and adhesive cervical restoration.
